A civil engineer and an electrical engineer were talking about which of their fields was the older. The electrical engineer said "Well, God is an electrical engineer, look at how the body's nervous system works, it is wonderful electrical engineering!" The civil engineer said "No, God must be a civil engineer, who else would run a waste disposal line through the middle of a recreation area?"

Civil engineers work within local politics and the public. Focusing on buildings and public works projects, pay is good but less jobs available.
Electrical Engineers, pay is also good, very wide field you can work in public or private. If I were choosing I would go electrical unless you really want to be a City manager some day.

I think Civil engineering would be a better choice, because there are better job options available.. I have seen most electrical engineers switch to computers - because of lack of jobs and trust me the switch wasn't really easy.

One good thing about civil is the geographical diversity of the job market. Even a very small town has to have a civil engineer.

Civil will be more reliable in the long run, unless your some kinda super engineering star. Civil is just using your skills on a dailly basis. Too many EE out ther right now,, jobs not there. Employees just take you and burn you out. I'm a E- tech been one for 12 years,, right now at my job, which is a 70k a yeqr tech job, I've got at least 7 EEs out of 32 techs working with me, some under me, doing my tech job.

application engineers are a dime a dozen. electric powered engineers are no longer. maximum electric powered engineers i comprehend have a actual looking command of application and often direct the appliance engineers direction. it incredibly is the appliance guy is often the job grasp to the electrical powered guy. application is ineffective with out something to jot down it for. application will become usual usual. electric powered is often something new.

Go with what interests you.
Electric engineering is designing circuits and so forth, robots or applicances or whatever.
Civil engineering is designing much more physical strructures, like bridges, dams, roads, etc.
Chances are you fall into one category or the other. If you really enjoy both, go for both. But I suspect most people are strongly one or the other.
