So there's this girl. We both like eachother. The only problem is that she isnt allowed to date for another year. She is trying to get me to meet her parents and show how good of a guy I am, I'm scared too death. I know I have to act perfect by all means, but is there anything *extraodinary* I could do to make them like me? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Im only a year older

Just be yourself, but act like a man by showing maturity in manners. What I mean is, you shake her father's hand when you meet him. Not a wimpy handshake. And you look him in the eye and smile when you do it.

You graciously great her mother, also shaking hands. If you can say it sincerely, compliment her eyes, dress, blouse or something, making eye contact and smiling.

You show utmost respect for the daughter, opening doors, etc. No profanity, even if her parents tend to use it. They are adults and can get away with it, but that doesn't mean they want their daughter dating some kid with a foul mouth.

Beyond that, just be friendly and open.

Best Wishes,

Sue

I know EXACTLY how you feel. My boyfriend isn't allowed to date for another year and I went through the exact same thing....the dreadful meeting of the parents. There isn't a whole lot you can do to win them over but there are a few tips I learned to keep them from hating you. Try to be polite. Parents love someone who is polite. Try making small conversations with them. Try to find something interesting to talk about. For example if you notice her father likes football and you happen to be a football fan, it can't hurt to spike up a conversation about it. Also, it's good to show them how much of a gentleman you are when it comes to their daughter. You know, hold the door open for her kind of thing. And you might also want to be confident. Don't show you are nervous. Hold your head high, have a firm hand shake, and look them right in the eye and smile when you talk. Just show them you're a great guy and maybe things will turn out great! Good luck!

Need some REALLY good advice?

Respect her parents' wishes and DON'T date their daughter. If you've waited this long, you can wait longer. Because if you talk them into it, they will regret it, and they will regret you.

Respect the way her parents wish her to be raised.

Show them that you show their daughter a good time. They'll be happy for her if she's happy. Nothing big. If she likes you, enough said.
