No, I do not think it is wierd, but there must be some folks like you who are wondering the same thing. For quite some time I encouraged, and expected, and wished some females I knew would ask me out. I spent a lot of time waiting in vain. I did not get asked out too often.
I gave up on this passive method of trying to get a date, and became much more active in asking females out on dates. You can probably guess the result. I ending up going out on dozens of dates. I know why you are pondering this question, you may think it is "wrong" or "wierd", but it isn't either one.
What this does show is that in our culture if we guys do give up some of the traditional roles as active particpants, the role is not always picked up by the females. Many do still remain passive in this regard. I can see that in some of the Questions here too.
It is not as bad as "damned if you do, damned if you don't", but it certainly was an eye-opener for me.

Not at all, not in these times. I think that it is very natural now for a woman to ask a man out as it is the other way around. Go for it!! Good Luck

No it is not definitely not weird to ask a guy out it shows that your are confident and comfortable in your own skin

Not at all. Some guys are too shy and nothing happens if the girl doesn't take the initiative. My wife asked me.

No girl its okay to ask out a boy okay from my side no cuz i asked this boy out and we been going out 4 bought 4 mountha just becareful about how u come up to asking the boy and make sure its what u really want.

absolutely not. sometimes the only way the next move will be made is if a guy is100% sure the girl is into him. one definite way to show this is asking him out. there are other ways, but that one doesn't fail. go for it.
