Always practice your speeches out loud in front of a mirror. The bathroom is a good place. I do this at least twice prior to actually giving a speech or presentation. The more you speak in public the more comfortable you'll be at it. There really is no way to remove that fear unless you tackle it head on and keep doing it. More or less, you want to control that fear and rechannel that energy into motivation or enthusiasm.

There is a course you can do and its not very expensive at least i dont think it is you would have to check.
Its called Toastmasters, it really helps with speaking in front of other people and it improves your confidence a lot. Maybe you can Google it to find out where you can take the course or a school principal or university registrar can help you locate a course close to you do you have some one you can ask?

Make a long speech in front of a mirror and when you get a chance to speak on stage, grab it and see through the audience.

Fear is a figment of your imagination - whether real or projected. Conquering fear is as simple as confronting it. Don't rent any space in your mind or heart for fear; if you do rent a room to fear, charge a dear price. To improve a problem identify its nature. Once you understand the nature of the problem break it down further until you have identified the quality you are looking for.

The Face had an excellent answer.
Practice practice practice.
Practice helps to get the butterflies flying in formation.
Actually enough practice and the butterflies seem to disappear almost as soon as you speak the first word.
It helps to have a subject you are passionate about.
Sometimes it helps to imagine your audience naked.

Be very well prepared. Focus on someone in the back who doesnt seem to be paying much attention or someone who does not intimidate you and the more you do it, the more you will relax when you do it.
