When someone who has never known God dies, what happens to their soul. Not an atheist, or someone who is just not saved. Someone who never knew he existed. Someone who had never heard of him. I assume this is possible, but even if you think everyone knows who God is, humor me. Is it heaven or hell for them?

For the very first answerer, I am not a Christian, but that is VERY rude.

For all of you answering, "no one knows", this is a hypothetical (sp?) question. I just want an opinion, what if? And yes, I think there are people who do not know of God, or a least not to the extent to understand the "salvation".

I am not rejecting any answer, if you feel the need to post "I don't know". go ahead, but that's not really an opinion, or an answer to the question. This is unfortunately the kind of question that is directed mostly at Christians, and bible passages are very happily recieved. I just post questions like this to see what people think, no one knows for sure. That is the main reason that "I don't know" doesn't really answer the question.

If a person never heard of God or had a religious faith, I believe when they died, the inner self their soul if there concept of life was good and they did good things than they will travel to a high state of consciousness which some would call Heaven. Hell for me is really a negative place where people who are bad in though go to or punishment is set for those who need to suffer for the sins they did in life, but it’s not eternal. In my belief the afterlife is states of consciousness if the person died with an awareness of themselves than they will go to whatever state of vibration their soul is. All souls go to the same place, and all are cared for no matter what they believe in or who they are. Again this is my perspective as a New Age Spiritualist.

When someone who does not even know God exists dies, the exact same thing happens as when any one else dies. There is no difference. God sees us as we really are, no matter whether we are Christians, Muslims, Pagans, New Age thinkers, Buddhists, or even Atheists. No one goes to hell, because hell doesn't exist, and the devil doesn't exist either. God doesn't judge or condemn anyone for any reason...ever!!! Wouldn't it be great if we could learn from God's example, and do the same?

There is nothing that matters except pure love and kindness!!

Love is all there is!!

The answer is given in Romans 2:14 "14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, 15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, 16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus." People who have never been exposed to God or the Bible will not be judged on the basis of those things, but on the basis of their conscience. The problem is that no one is able to live up to their conscience so they will still be sent to hell. Romans 2:12 "For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law..." That is why the Chruch has always been so missionary minded.

There are a few outcomes that could happen:

If the person didn't know God existed and lived a decent life he/she would probably go to heaven.

If the person didn't know God and lived a bad life they would still probably go to heaven.

If they didn't know a God but knew right from wrong and still did bad things then they might go to hell, but since God is merciful I'm sure he would allow the perosn in heaven at some point.

There are many different factors that could play into your question.

A heathen. Someone who has never heard of God.
God judges each accordingly.
I think they are as capable as anyone, a son of Adam, who walked with God. He knew God because God came to him. It will be the same. He will have been like Adam. But not stupid.

Our souls are like arrows and Christ the bow. Our angels are the archers. The target is heaven, the Heart of God, ne? It's a whimsical picture...

Hell- Romans 1:20- For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godheaded; so that they are without excuse:
Ecclesiastes 3:11- He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

They go to Hell:

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

This means that God can be clearly seen in all the things he has created so that there is no excuse for not knowing about God.

There are those for who have not heard of God, like in tribes etc but according to the word of God, even nature cries out to them about God. Read Romans 1:18-21

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of this world His invisible attribute are clearly seen, being understood by things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse because although they knew God they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened." - Roman 1:18-21 (NKJV)

You mean like a baby who only lives a few weeks? A christian told me that all people are born sinners. I aked what about a baby and she said he will grow to be a sinner. I argued the baby is innocent now, it hasn't sinned yet. She said the baby isw a sinner because the parents were sinners. I don't quite understand this type of thinking. Then she said Jesus was sent here for the reason that he would die for our sins. Because animal sacrifice was no longer good enough. To me, that is a barbaric pagan way of thinking. No wonder god and religion is just a fairy tale. And a bad one at that.

If a person lives to the best of their ability truth, justice, generosity, unselfish loving, a principled life, then God is good & there ignorance of the divine will not be counted against them.

Theologian Karl Rahner would call this person an
"annonomous Christian".

ONLY God judges........for which I am most grateful!
