Most states have Mental Health services that are based on income--sliding scale. Then, there are state rehabilitative services. Look in the Yellow Pages and see what your state offers. If he is suicidal, you can always call the police, and they are obliged to place him in a mental health hospital. Best of luck to both of you.

Did you try the hospital? They have lots of charities. When my son was in the hospital, I had a charity for children take care of his bills. Creche. I realize he's not a child. I am using it as an example. I am also disabled and on SSD. I know how hard it can be. The depression and all can be awful. There are others at your own hospital and at churches. You can also have a dinner and raffle for him. People pay for a speghetti dinner and raffle tickets ahead of time and half the money from the raffle goes to the winner and half goes for your son's surgery. I know it isn't fun , but let me know how things go for you.

get your phone book and look in the government pages. find the numbers for FSSA and maybe even BDDS. Call those people and explain your situation. If they can't help you they'll know who can. Good luck. AND....don't let them push you around. keep fighting for what you need. call your governor, your congressman, whoever. you'd be surprised how willing and quick people can be to help when you go directly to the top and make it clear that you aren't giving up.
