aww lol i went through this with my cousin when she first learned how to say it. we always thought she was hungry. but it turns out she was just happy she could say the word. then it turned into an eat eat song. drove me mad. but give your baby snacks, if it looks like shes starving feed her, if not shes probably just like my cousin. just like the word.

love jen

Normal for 2. Leave out lots of baby carrots, celery sticks, fresh fruit, etc. Toddlers are "grazers". Let her help herself. Put away spoilables after about an hour and a half. Cheese sticks, banana slices, whatever is good for her. Don't be surprised if she prefers to eat this way instead of normal mealtimes for the next year or two.

She will probably benefit by having something attached you can wipe her little hands and face with.

I liked the tie on terry cloth bibs at this age. The white ones can be bleached so they are so much easier to clean : ) [Remember to rinse cycle twice if you use bleach on any of her things, bleach allergies are common.]

acknowledge that "yes, you can say eat" but just feed her at her normal times. I think children this young just love to have attention and talking is a big step. My friend's little one is constantly saying something, "eat" or "emma cup" over and over. She really doesn't want anything but a response, because when I get her cup for her she drinks for-oh like 2 seconds then drops it on the floor and is on to the next "whatever whatever". Sometimes ignoring them or explaining, "we will eat in a little while, not right now" will stop it.

My son liked to say EAT EAT when he first learned the word. Then he learned that when he would say EAT EAT I would get up no matter what was going on. Maybe she has caught on that it is a good way to get your attention. If you know she is not hungry try and distract her with a toy or something fun she likes to do. Good luck!

Most kids that young don't eat unless they are hungry. If it is something that has recently cropped up maybe she is going through a growing spurt. Just make sure they are healthy snacks and not a bunch of junk.

Feed her, she's hungry mom. At 2, she is growing fast and her body is expending a lot of energy. You can feed her good healthy snacks, an apple cut up, orange or tangerine slices, cheese sticks, cheerios.

Take her to the doctor. She may have Prader-Willi syndrome.
