I'm looking for a book on the religion practised in Southern Nigeria, by the Yoruba tribe, called Juju. Voodoo, which is practised in Louisiana (among other places) originated when people were transported from Africa to the Americas as slaves.

There is lots of information on Yoruba. I don't what is acurate or not because I dont practice Yoruba. I know that Santeria is probably the closest to Yoruba as both honor Orishas. Maybe you can start there. I found a couple websites about the religion.

I would also recommend looking up Ifa. I know there are babalawos in the US they were initiatied in Nigeria. Good luck on your search.

I simply purchased Thus Spoke Zarathustra by way of Nietzsche and Beyond Belief by way of Elaine Pagels. Zarathustra I'd learn earlier than, however loaned my reproduction years in the past and hadn't noticeable it considering that. I truthfully learn this form of crap for a laugh. No significantly - for FUN. Nor do I feel that makes me deep or something. It's simply that not anything maintains one distracted on the bathroom like Nietzsche. Books are the only acquire I nearly in no way remorse. I take again part the garments I purchase, however I have extra books than bookshelves, that is why they are stacked all over the place my residence. Lots of large artwork books too considering that I'm a photograph dressmaker.
