If he tells you that he wants to see you, go see him. But if he doesn't say anything or make the initial contact, then don't. If he wants to see you, he will make a move. If he does make any move, you know what that means.

If you are both single go for it. You might learn something about the relationship. It's very hard to enlisted men to to have a stable relationship if the other person is not emotionally available, This may be a good time to solidify your feelings. Let him know how you feel.

Call him, there's nothing wrong with talikng to your ex,unless he was a bad ex. In your situation he sounds like you loved him very much, so he must have been a good guy. He'll appreciate that you still thinks about him,so give him a call.

Call first and tell him you wish to see him. Honesty is the best thing. Tell him what you feel and if he says no you haven't really lost anything. Then you can finally move on. I hope this helps, i'm big on honesty.

if he's already mentioned to you that he'll be back for a little while, then why not just give him a call on the phone to say hey. that way it'll leave it open on whether or not you meet up in person.
