Bench Warrants mean different things in different states. In most states the bench warrant is issued by the judge from the "bench", hence the name. It differs from other warrants in that it is typically in the amount of the fine and nothing more. so if u do get picked up...u pay the fine and they cut u loose. Talking to an attorney is a good idea. Better if you can do it for free but you can at least call the court and ask what you should do. Most courts don't want to make more work for themselves or the judge. If they can do it the easy way they will and they will tell you straight up what the deal is. Take it from me I'm a cop. You don't want to blow this off and get picked up the day before christmas and be sitting in a jail cell for the holidays for a $20 ticket.

First off, find yourself an attorney. That way all your advice will be legally correct for you state. If you get arrested on a bench warrant, you will be held until someone comes and pays the fee for the ticket. But talk to an attorney, first consult is usually always free. Good Luck

dude, no kidding, take care of it now!! 2 things will happen... one, the fine will triple, two, you WILL get arrested one day when your just driving along, minding your own buisness, a cop will pull you over for a dumb little thing, run your name and poof, youve got a full blown warrent!!! i know, it happened tome...GO take care of it!!! if you can just pay the clerk, all the better, but if not, put yourself on calender, appear before the judge and tell him you honestly forgot, or whatever, ( try not to lie, judges arent stupid) and ask him how to pay it...
im telling you now, from experience, if YOU goto the courts, it will fare much better than if they find you... go pay it before it turns into a $1000 dollor fine!!!

Send in a money order first. Chances are that if you pay the ticket nothing else will come of it. If it still shows up hire a lawyer.
