The Masonic Lodge and their beliefs and rituals are all occult, including the symbols they use. The word occult means "hidden"", and not in a good sense. The Masonic rituals are all "hidden"; same with the handshakes and symbols. If you could compare their symbols and rituals with occult and paganism -which you can with a little hard work- you'd be amazed at the sight. It is a no no to deliberately confess your Masonic identity; that's why they have secret handshakes and symbols..

They are not anti-religion. A man has to believe in a God in order to be a mason. I haven't heard anything about opposing religious doctrine and I've known about a dozen masons.

It's actually quite ridiculous what many people believe about them -- evil and satanic? That's absurd. I suppose that a group of Boy Scouts are evil because they have a secret club too.

You have to believe in a Supreme Being in order to be a Freemason. They are not evil and Angels and Demons is NOT a good source to learn about them from! They are a charitable organization. My grandpa was a Shriner, and they helped sick children. Does that sound evil and satanic to you? He was also a good Christian man. They don't do anything with religion, you just have to have a religion to be one. I could think the tree in my front yard was the Supreme Being of the universe and they'd say "hey, that's cool, you're in."

Most freemasons were Pagans...Sorry for those of you who think Pagans are devil worshipers! Read this book "The Jesus Mysteries". Was the Original Jesus A Pagan God? Its by Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy. This book will get you thinking...even the strong-hearted Christians!!

Freemasonry is about freedom of thought and religion. To be a freemason, a man MUST profess faith in a single supreme being.

They are basically deists. It isn't inconsistent to be about any religion and be a Freemason.

They are a religion unto themselves. They believe in God but so do demons and they tremble at His Word. Not everyone who accepts "God" accepts the God of the Bible and His son, Jesus Christ.

They are a secret society of which the Bible says we shouldn't be a member. They worship an unknown person or spirit. They are antichrist.
