No, this is not true. Hair grows from the scalp, the ends do not grow. Split ends make hair look more healthy. If you are having trouble with split ends look for shampoos or conditioners with the "keratin bond system," or "biotin." Keratin seals your split ends, and created a protective barrier for the healthy strands. Biotin strengthens your hair, and helps it to grow at a greater speed. Jason products (which you can purchase at The Vitamin Shoppe or online) contain biotin, and are all natural.

If you want less damaged hair, twist chunks of your hair in the light, and trim the split ends. DO NOT let a haridresser do this if you are trying to grow out your hair. They usually cut too much off.

Yes and no, ha! Split ends will continue to split up the hair shaft and then break off. So, while you're hair will grow at the exact same rate as always, it will seem to have stopped growing because it's breaking off faster than it's growing out.

If you want to grow your hair out, trim off all split ends. Then hold off on cutting it for as long as you can possibly stand it. Keep you hair healthy by limiting your use of shampoo to every other day. You can just use conditioner on the other days -- it's emolient enough to clean your hair. Shampoo is horribly drying and actually causes more split ends than blow-drying!

well not really..IT IS TRUE you're hair won't get any LONGER, but it will keep growing at the same pace, it's just because you're hair is breaking off, (@ the split ends) so if you are trying to grow you're hair you should get trim (about 1/4 inch) every 6 - 8 weeks..MAX

The split ends are not very strong and will just break and that makes your hair shorter than if you had trimmed them back to healthy hair and let it grow.

Your hair does not grow from ends. It grows out from your scalp. How is trimming your spilt ends going to make it grow faster. That's an old wives tale.

It wont make your hair strengthen swifter from the roots even though it easily will make it fit. Trimming off cut up ends potential the cut up wont proceed to strengthen higher ruining more desirable of your hair. So in a way your hair will 'strengthen' longer once you've trim off cut up ends oftentimes, yet no longer in the way you may imagine.

No, but it won't grow even, and when you try to do a certain style with split ends, either the hair could fall out because sometimes it pulls to hard for the short hair, or it won't grow evenly and it lokks very bad.

no that is not true at all because your hair could grow fast but it would grown uneven because you have split ends...but trimming the split ends will also help slow hair grow fast and help it grow back healthy and straight..but u have to grease and oil your hair also to maintain healthy straight hair... because i remember years ago when i was younger and my hair was about medium neck length and it was uneven but wen got it cut and trimmed evenly my hair grew back straight wit no split ends and it helps the hair to grow faster but split ends does not make your hair grow slower if you usually have fast growing hair

If you leave in your split ends, they will split up your hair follicle, and you will end up with a large amount of unhealthy hair that they will have to cut off. So you either trim now or you will have to cut off a lot later.
