Decreased. Most of crime is related to poverty. That is the
real problem that no one will address. Hundreds of dollars in fines for not wearing a seat belt, jail time one marijuana joint.
Come on!

That is a very easy one it should be increased, to me now a days there has to be more protection, everyone feels that it should be decreased until they need them. Let someone have something happen to them and what is the first thing they are complain about There is not enough law enforcement

I think they should increase law enforcement primarily at airports and methods of transportation come holiday season. A lot of travelers, and any sorts of possibilites can occur. I think law enforcement should be decreased in the urban areas, who cares if you parked at the meter for 5 dollars more, i'm sure theirs some more substantial crime taking place.

Well, lets see. Use St. Louis County as an example. They have about 1100 officers in the Department. BUT there are over 690 sex offenders in the county. That doesn't include murders, robbers, bad check people, auto theives, etc. I'd say yes, we need a lot more police, but even more importantly we need.
1. More jail space.
2. More judges who don't play games.
3. More Sheriffs like the one in Arizona who gives prisoners only what they have to have and doesn't make jail a playground.
4. More mandatory sentencing with fewer plea bargins. Third offense, no pleas and no probation.
5. Quit spending a fortune to rehabilitate people who don't give a damn and just want to hurt people. If they go to jail once, then try rehabilitation, after that.....TUFF! Put em' in, keep them and make it the most unpleasant place to be! (Not cruel, just unpleasant!)

Since so much police time is wasted on things like the drug war and there is such a proliferation of unnecessary federal police forces like BATFE, definitely decreased. Since I brought it up, prior to requiring prescriptions for drugs, misuse of drugs was rare. Once it became illegal, it had to take up less space so became more potent/addictive. The same happened with alcohol. Instead of drinking beer/ale, Americans started drinking more potent, easier to hide drinks and sometimes literally went blind. The prohibition of recreational drugs caused a whole new class of criminals, caused people to deal with mobsters whom then led them into more profitable and potent items, created international drug cartels, etc. Just stopping this nonsensical drug war would allow for less police doing more to stop violent crime and theft. Then there are the racist policies that keep minorities powerless, poor, and more likely to commit crimes such as welfare, reservations, and affirmative action. With hope for the future, a lot of crime would vanish.

I also think it should be increased. There is not enough law enforcement where we live in my City. I hope and pray that more will be in our City.
