Me and my wife are both full Irish. We are wondering if we should stay in the United States, where we have lived together for 4 years, she has been here for 10 years. She used to live in Ireland until she was 19. I have lived here my whole life. We are wondering if we should raise our daughter in Ireland, or in the United States. She said she absolutely loves it there. I have visited it 3 times and I think it is one of the most beautiful places ever. You can find that in the U.S. Any help? Has anyone been through the same situation?

It would honestly have to be a personal decision between the two of you and what is best for your daughter.
For me, I would choose to raise my son in just about any other country other than the US if that were possible. I grew up all over Europe during my childhood and as a teen moved to the US. Even though I'm a US citizen by birth. I find the experiences, lifestyle and culture in Europe to be 10 times better to be raised around than the "culture" of the US or rather, lack thereof. Good luck with your decision. You should sit down together and each make a pro and con list and compare them. Look up schools that your child would be going to, jobs for you both, etc.

depends on what country you want to spend your life in and who you want to raise your child around you want to be where you as a family have the most support because when you raise children you need support. Another thing you have to think about is jobs and if you will be able to get a job that will support your family. I know I personally could not leave my parents or siblings but if you could. Good luck with making the decision this is only something that you and your wife can make.

It's a very personal decision - you needto think about what is best for your daughter. Compare the life she will have in both places - where you will live, the schools, the environment, the closeness of family, the ability to travel to the other family members..
Maybe try a simple pros/cons list and see what you come up with and then compare lists with your wife and sit down and discuss it.
And for the person who said you should live in the US so she won't be racist - that clearly makes no sense. It's how you raise your children - not the country you live in.

I believe you should stay in the United States so that your daughter can be exposed to the diversity that is America. It wouldn't be very good for your daughter to become racist. Granted, you'll have to watch out for the bad traits of America, but America is the land of opportunity and she should take that chance if she is given that. My parents migrated here about 30 years ago and living here was the best thing for me. I learned so much about diversity and I feel like I'm really someone.

Hey, go with family wherever that is.
Oh and are there any benefits of her being an American citizen if born here? If not, go with family. Family is special.

you live here, all your conections are here, family or friends at least, job and what not, why move, but otherwise if you have the money to relocate and you would be closer to family or whatnot, then right on go for it, or what the hell buy 2 houses one here one there/! that would be awesome!!!
