anytime is perfectly alrite!! it all depends on the individuals involved. and etiquette gal, it's not just about milking people for gifts or a showy spectacle. it's about two people wanting to show their love for eachother to their family and friends! personally, my husband and i are having our vows renewed after 2 years of marriage. we had a wedding with only our parents and sibilings in america, and now we want to renew them to share the event with family and friends that are over in korea who we could not invite to the wedding and also to have the wedding of our dreams since we are mor e financially stable. again, it all depends on the people involved!

If this is something you feel the need to do, then by all means go ahead.
Some do it on a particular wedding anniversary, like married 25 years. Some renew their vows when the marriage has been particularly rocky & they are recommitting.
And some renew their vows every year.

Depends on you.
My husband and I decided to renew our vows after five years. Some couple do it yearly (I think is a bit extreme) but renewing your vows certainly does bring back the romance and love if you really are in love that is.

I agree with "books are cool," above. Most people renewing their vows are just trying to make a spectacle of themselves for their own vanity, or milk people for gifts.

If you NEED to renew your vows due to trouble in the marriage, or something, that is something that should be done privately or semi-privately.

You don't need to renew your vows to have an anniversary party. You can have one of those any year (and probably better etiquette to have an anniversary banquet than a vow renewal).

You don't need to renew your vows like its your drivers license or something. It's just a showy thing and a reason to have a party. Or to quell your insecurities. I have been married 15 years and never have done it. My sister has been married 30 years and has never done it. My parents have been married over 50 years and have never done it. We have an unspoken bond to each other and tell each other I love you every day. Have a big anniversary party and invite all your friends if you must for your 10th.

Sure. Next Oct. 7 we'll celebrate our 25th. We'll renew our vows then as well.

10, 25, 30, and 50 are the most popular. But if you and your husband would like to do it go for it.
