Does this work? I've only tried it like 3 times. It seems as though my hair actually gets shorter after i do this. Am i doing something wrong?

When you singe your hair your ruining it. Yes it is getting shorter. Your burning your hair off. Stop doing it. Go to your salon and get those ends trimmed regularly to help promote natural healthy growth. Good Luck.

I am interested in this question, because I frequently have split ends and would love to have something "seal" them. Naturally, your hair is getting shorter because you are burning some of it off. The same thing happens when you cut it. I don't know if one is better or worse, but I do know that the ONLY thing that it is affecting is the ENDS of your hair. That is, which one makes your hair less likely to split? I would be interested to know; nothing I have read indicates that there is a difference. Neither cutting nor burning your hair has any effect on its growth, however. Nothing you can do to the ends your your hair has any effect on the root. Eat well, reduce stress where possible, and take a B vitamin supplement (or just a multivitamin) if necessary.

What were you smoking at the time?
Hair is 'dead' before it gets out of the folicle.
Burning the end makes it shorter, it will have no effect on the speed it grows.

Oh my gosh that is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Your hair grows out from the scalp, not the ends. My goodness, go to the salon for some help, pleeeease.

PLEASE do not do this. The hair grows from the top of your head, where the root is. Burning (or cutting, for that matter...) hsa nothing to do with the growing rate of your hair. What your friend told you is a very dangerous thing... You could burn your hair all the way off and to damage to your face and scalp. Please don't do this again!

Truth be told, burning your hair is an bad idea. try hair grease, such as "do gro" it can work... just don't burn your hair again, heat break's ur hair off and changes the color 2. try a salon and ask them 4 advice, u could call one and ask, good luck! and remember don't listen 2 your friend when it come's 2 hair.

You hair will get short because it is just like holding a flating iron on your hair for hours. Don't you know heat is damaging to hair. Especially direct fire. Just cut them off it will save the hassle of ruining your hair and you wont have to smell the burning hair

Ask your friend to do it. I cant believe you would stick a match to your head. Is there no logic left in the world.
