Move away from them, don't make eye contact, stare at adds, pretend you don't hear them, start talking on your phone if you have one or put ur music up really loud if you have some sort of mp3 player or i-pod; if none of that works, get off as soon as possible.

Why do you think you're going to run into a crazy person? I rode the NYC subways for work for years and, while I saw some wacky people in the concourses, I never had any problems. For the most part, people were either very quite and kept to themselves, or were willing to engage you in a normal conversation. The people you might consider to be 'crazy' leave you alone. You've got nothing to worry about!

Most people on airplanes chat to the person next to them... why should a train be different?
why not just talk back? you might learn something.
If everyone chatted on their way to work on the train there would be a lot less insecurity, racism, and fear of people who are a little different. There are lots of intelligent people on a train who could do great things by talking together. It could improve businesses, give the ideas for new inventions or even stop someone very lonely from commiting suicide that day.
Wouldnt it be a much better world if everyone wasnt a cold insensitive stranger? BTW wanting to talk to someone doesnt make you crazy, it makes you sociable.

Walk away or run. Nod your head over and over. Act crazy with him,or talk to him. Also you can stab him before he stabs you. But, that would not end up to good. :p

Stare back at him wide-eyed and start mumbling to yourself. Even if you are little people hesitate to mess with a crazy person... including other crazy people.
