Where I live (Southern California) the median price is over $500,000. I'm just wondering how much the same thing would be where you live. Please tell me the state you live in and the typical price. Also let me know if that's in the city or out in the sticks.

Actually here in Southern Cali. I live in the High Desert and for a 2-story 5 bedroom (down the street) is selling for a little over 300,000

Down here homes top out at $75 million for 3 bedroom/ 2 bath water front property, however if you are looking for a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath in a nice neighborhood that is atleast 5 miles from the beach the cost is between $425 thousand and $550 thousand. That is Naples, FL.

In Northern Colorado (Ft. Collins- Money magazines #1 place to live) a 3 bed 2 bath home can be purchased reasonably for as low as $150,000. If you are really interested in getting statistics on prices throughout you used to be able to look it up on Money Magazines website.

I live in Amherst, NY right outside of Buffalo (one of the top 3 safest cities in the US as the real estate agent liked to say) and our home cost 120,000. It is 3 br, 1.5 bath, above ground pool, fenced yard, and is generally very nice. This price seems average for this sized house in this area. It's the suburbs.

In the inner city(in a modest sized town) about 60,000 to 70,000$.
In the burbs from $125,000. -half a mill. We have excellent housing costs here in the "fly-over zone". Michigan
