Do a lot of girls take words from guys very seriously to an extreme level?

2 years ago, one of my friend (girl) is pretty tight and skinny. before the summer, i told her she looks great and "keep in shape."

i dont know for SOME REASON. she took those words to another level. despite of her already skinny body, she started dieting. when the school started again, she was HORRENDOUSLY thin. i think, according to her ad, she claims she is 98 lbs and 5'4. but no, she is skinnier than THAT!

MY QUESTION IS: is it just her, or many girls do take words from guys very seriously to an extreme level?
Also, do you think she liked me? b/c some people said that is one possibility. i never thought of it that way.

Yeah, I would say she probably took what you said the wrong way and thought it had a negative connotation. It varies from girl to girl with the depth of their insecurity, but lots of girls are really self conscious about their appearance, especially when it comes to her weight. Also, it's a definite possibility that she likes you. That could be why she took your words so seriously.

Well.. you can't really stereotype women into one description... but.. LOL. Yes, I would say that most women/girls do take words very seriously, and overanalyze what is said to them. Maybe your friends lost weight for some other reason, but it's hard to say.

Could she like you? maybe. Unless you like her - don't bring that up. Encourage her to eat in a healthy way, and to not be obsessed over her looks. But.... many girls strive to look like Nicole Richie/Paris Hilton and want to be rail thin.

Be kind with your words, and help her to get past this.

There are some people - men and women - who take things really seriously and pesonally because they are insecure. There is a very good chance that she liked you as guys and girls would normally do whatever they can to be attractive to the other person. And maybe she thought she was too fat and when you said that she took it to heart.

Its a good possibility that she liked you. She may have stayed in shape to get your attention. On the other hand for some reason us girls take what you guys say to an extreme level for sure. As much as we all don't want to admit it, we care what others think somtimes.

I guess she thought dieting was the way to keep in shape .when a girl likes a guy she usually listens to every word he says concerning her.

It's very possible that she did like you or maybe still does. Girls tend to take things very seriously, but what you said wasn't anything bad. Maybe she developed an eating disorder or something around that area. Anyway, you should try talking to her and those close to her to try and find out if you had anything to do with it because this exact thing happened to me. Good luck man.

Just have an honest talk with her and tell her what you ment. Yes, some girls take things seriosly so u have 2 be careful of what u say. You don't want your friend 2 become anorexic or something.

That girl was WAY oversensitive about her looks. Most girls are far more confident about their bodies and don't require a man's opinion when deciding whether to improve them. Usually, I take a guy's words super-seriously when he says something chauvinistic.

Girls are insaine. Tremendously Stupid. Especially teenage girls. I HATED high school b/c of all the silly giggly girly girls. I had a few girl friends, but I tried to stay around boys b/c girls are catty and nuts.

Seriously.

If you can find a gal with a decent head, treat her good, b/c they are few and far between.

I for one never ever take A WORD FROM THE GUY. If they say ten words I only believe in just one word.. and she does like you
