This is a question I have been pondering lately, as I recently started dating again at 40.
Most people seem to assume that you are a teenager, perhaps you could indicate your age.
I have been on a few dates, and only dated one guy more than once. I am looking for a serious relationship, so I plan to wait until it is clear that we are both interested in building that. I have no idea how long it will take, because I have yet to get to that point with someone.

There is not a set time limit. You should not have sex but make love. If you make love to someone that you are in love with and that person is in love with you, you will not regret it. But you will regret sex. Sex is just the act of 2 people getting theirs. You should wait until you feel comfortable enough around this person to discuss sexual health issues like the use of condoms and getting tested together. Don't just have sex because your hot and bothered or because he is. Make love because you both are in love.

There's not really a set time period for sex... It happens, people become attracted to each other. However it's a bit risque to jump into bed with someone after knowing them a week. Personally, I'd say a couple of months, I like to take my time in a relationship to build trust and get to know the person, rather than do something I'd regret.

Don't have sex with him unless you really want to... don't do it because you think he wants you to. Sex is a 2 way street and you definitely have equal say on when you will become active with a guy. Only you can know when the time is right and it's different with each new relationship.

Actually, a sexologist has said that it is better to wait at least 3 to 6 months. That way, you are more comfortable with that person, and know that person well by the time you get to it.

thats an impossible question to answer. every person and circumstance is different. i dated girls where things got sexual within a week or so. but then ive also dated girls that it didnt happen for a couple of months. thats how it was with my fiancee. it also depends on how often or how many times you have seen them or been on dates with them. i would say that a month is pretty common.

The ideal amount of time is marriage. If you really love someone, it doesn't matter if you have to "wait 4 years before getting sexual".
