Get some very pretty shot cups or small vases, get some glow sticks and some magic crystals (those are those things that you can find in a craft store that once you add water they expand and look like crystals), grab some tealights.
Fill the cups halfway with the crystals, put the glow lights lit in them and then fill with water- in a few minutes you will have a gorgeous centerpiece- put the lighted tealight in it and enjoy!

For my wedding I went to the dollar store and bought small mirrors, glass bowls, pretty candles, seashells, and things like that, and made different centerpieces for each table using the same colors and themes, and the same supplies. We didn't use flowers as they can eat a huge whole in your budget, and I think they can look tacky as well as obstruct the view of the people at the tables. The candle centerpieces we created were much more elegant, and I think we spent 60.00 total for about 12 tables. The floating candles in water under a small mirror are very elegant and very pretty. If you have your heart set on having flowers at the table, you can buy a single long stem rose for all the ladies in the color of your choice and just lay them at the table setting. This is also very elegant and they double as favors.It also costs much less then having flower centerpieces. I think we spent about a dollar per rose and you can get them whole sale for pretty cheap or call around to floral shops as most will give you a break if you are buying in bulk. We also did this at my wedding and everyone loved the idea.Good luck and best wishes on the big day

One large candle or 3 candles of different sizes placed on a glass plate or mirrors with confetti to match the colors you will have at your wedding would be very simple yet elegant. You can go to your local craft store for the candle holder, plates, or mirrors, and they do not have to be all the same size either, mix them up, some stores have a discount section where you can buy candles and holders by the case for much less that buying each seperate. If this is not what you had in mind, how about some photo's of you and your intended, when you met, your favorite vacation together, partys, with friends, ect... mark the events right on the pic's, copy as many as you need and use different ones scattered on each table with a couple of tapered candles, dripless of course, very cute and the guests will have fun passing them around give them something to do while waiting for dinner to be served. Any thing you pick will be fine as long as you don't go over-board with anything...nothing worse than sitting at the table and not being able to see or chat with other's at the table. I bought glass bowls that were kind of like hurricane bowls but more rounded. Then I bought 12-hour unscented votive candles in their own glass containers and put them in the bowls. Between the outside of the votives and the inside of the bowls, I poured colored glass beads. You can find these supplies at any craft store and the nicer dollar stores, like Dollar Tree. I ended up paying about $1 for each centerpiece.

Go to your Dollar Store and get baskets, bowls, pots, etc...whatever you like. Then go to Home Depot (nursery) and buy inexpensive flowering plants in what ever color matches your wedding. Each centerpiece will cost about $4.00 to $5.00 dollars each. Wedding gems look cheap IMHO....

Candles are cheap. Get a floating candle bowl fill it with water, put a couple of floating candles in it, and set the bowl on a mirror so the light is reflected. Then put a few votives around the outside of the bowl. Simple, classy, looks good, and it's cheap!

We bought a case of mason jars, tied a tulle ribbon around the rim to face each side and put in fresh flowers. They were beautiful! But they matched nicely with the theme of our wedding - throw your theme out there and you might get some better ideas! Good Luck!

It really depends on how your decorating the reception site,mirror tiles w/ a hurricane glass/vase always looks nice, you can put almost anything inside, glass beads,flowers,water w/ a floating candle, limitless and will match whatever your theme.
Hobby stores carry the hurricanes 2-5 $ and the tiles you can shop for the best price. most reception sites have mirrored tiles on hand.

My sisters bought clear plastic plates, some silver tinsel, and some navy blue fake flowers to go on the tables. Cost them about $30. You could also go to walmart and get a bulk thing of small candles and set them on clear plastic plastic and surround them in tinsel colored to your wedding, or ribbon.
