A person that says he attends a non-denominational church has just basically said he's part of a denomination. Non-denominations are just another denomination with a different format. As far as baptism goes, Jesus makes it clear how a person is to be baptized (which, by the way, the word "baptize" in Greek, the language of the new Testament, means "to be immersed")... He says (Matt 28:19-20) Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age." IMPORTANT: To those that say baptism does not save, I must refer them to Mark 16:16 which says it does. Anyone who says otherwise has just called God a liar....Not only does baptism save, but it is the answer of a clear conscience before God (1 Pet 3:21).

Baptism is more for you that for Jesus. It's a ceremony. To say that you can't be a Christian with out being dunked in water is to say that you can't be saved in a dessert. ridiculous.
If you don't want to let down Jesus, then listen to you Holy Spirit. Follow the commandments as best you can. Pray every day about things that have happened ( a little expression of gratitude would be a good thing too ). Hold on to your faith. It will be tested, and not always by God.
Best wishes.

You're saved but battling issues -- meaning what? Either you believe or you don't. You're saying you don't want to let Jesus down, what makes you think you have control over God the Son? The Good Shepherd is truly that -- he'll pull you out of anything you stumble into, and sheep do get into some real trouble. True, you don't deserve salvation, nobody does, but don't you dare think that God can't handle the sinner he has predestined to salvation from before the foundations of the Earth.

Baptism is an outward sign for what has happened to you inward. If you are having second thoughts about what you did by accepting Jesus, it is of the devil. Don't let him stop you from being baptized. You can't have all the answers to your Christianity. Trust God and He will guide you. Talk to your pastor!

You can't "let Jesus down", he already knows everything you are going to do, so his expectations are the ultimate in realism.
Baptism of water harms no-one, can be taken more seriously than it is, but can be done any number of times.
Whenever you feel 'under the gun' of temptation, focus on what is tempting you, name it as Shaitan, tell it to get away from you, focus a few breaths on (inhaling) Loving God and Jesus and (exhaling) Thanking God and Jesus. When a feeling of bliss comes over you, it's time to go on with what you were doing before you were tempted.

Being baptized is only an outward showing to the world that you are a christian and want to serve Jesus Christ.Dont delay!
The struggles you are having dont belong to you they belong to God,turn it over to him.Being baptized will not get you to heaven, as I said it is an outward showing, you turned your life over to him when you accepted Jesus as you personal savior. The water washes away nothing but it shows us and God you are serious about following Jesus.

I would say, go for it. Matthew 28 says baptizing, then teaching. You don't have to have all the answers, as long as you are sure you have put your faith in Christ. Still battling with sin and temptation? So am I, 40 years later. Unresolved theological questions? Me too!
You don't agree with every single thing your church teaches? You are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, not in the name of a denomination. So go for it, brother!

Baptism is a personal experience and is your moment with God. You'll know when the time is right. Just remember, you'll never be without sin so don't wait until your finished with your issues. If it feels right now, go ahead! There's no right or wrong time. Congrats man, I'll meet ya in heaven!

Jesus already knows the issues that are baffling you. if you wait until these issues are resolved, you may not officially be a christian, but, Christ knows you are a follower. be baptized WHEN you're ready to take Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior.
