I hear alot of bad stuff about Tim Sylvia on the internet. I hear comments like "he's lame" "he has no athleticism" or my favorite "he uses his size as an advantage". Common, who doesn't use size and other physical attributes as an advantage?
You can complain about his size, his style, or whatever. But in recent history, no one has been able to beat him. So far, the UFC hasn't given him any challenge.
So who can beat him? OR is he the undisputed super heavyweight champ in the business?

I would personally like to see him go against Jerome LeBanner or Fedor E. but they fight in different organizations so that's not happening.

Ofcourse. Any man is beatable. I have yet to see an unbeatable fighter. The problem is there is not much depth in the heavyweight division of the UFC. Rumor is they are about to sign Cro Cop to the UFC, if this happens, he can definately beat Sylvia, so can a hand full of other Pride fighters, and heavyweight boxers in the world. Fedor, Mark Hunt, Simon Peter, Nogeira, Pele, Cro Cop, but in all fairness to Sylvia, he could beat those guys too, because that guy can hit pretty hard. UFC is UFC, MMA will never have an undisputed champ because of all the differentss Orgs, so you can never say 1 guy is toughest, but thats cool because no man is toughest, most can get beat on any given night.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that Fedor and CroCop would beat Tim easily. Fedor and CroCop are in a whole different class of their own. The truth is that Josh Barnett or Nog from Pride could probably beat Tim Sylvia too.
The problem with Sylvia is that he is an extremely tentative fighter. He displays no aggression whatsoever and he will not try to finish any fights unless his opponant leaves themselves WIDE OPEN. I don't hold size against him because thats how hes built, thats fine. But do something with it, nobody wants to see a 6'8 260 pound man run around the octagon for 25 minutes.

the only reason Tim Sylvia grew to become into the heavyweight champion for the variety of long term is because of the fact the UFC heavyweight branch sucks! If Tim Sylvia had fought in delight FC, he would not additionally be interior the suited 5. i've got faith, truthfully in my recommendations that Fedor might beat Tim Sylvia interior the 1st around. Fedor ought to in all probability beat Randy Couture too yet that combat will in all probability by no skill take place. IMO, Fedor Emilianenko is the terrific heavyweight interior the international good now.

Honestly, I don't like any of the UFC fighters, I find their forms very crappy and have bad punching or kicking techniques.Although their combat skills aren't that great, they have some good ground fighting fighters (eg. Gracie Family).
From what I've seen so far, Tim Sylvia's great size somewhat helped him maybe not in ground fighting, but in close combat. He was able to have a longer reach and stronger punch (not saying his punches are great).
Comparing the UFC fighters (not just Tim Sylvia), while having similar full contact rules as Kyokushin Karate in Japan (or other styles), I don't think any of the UFC fighters could stand a chance.
JUST MY OPINION......

I think Fedor would have NO problem with Sylvia. Too bad they're in different organizations.
As for other fighters IN the UFC, I'd like to see Arlovski fight him again.
There's no doubt Sylvia has size and the power to go with it, but he just doesn't appear to have much style.
But then again...he IS the champion...

People don't like Sylvia because of his suspension awhile back for using roids. Arlovski knocked him on his butt and submitted Sylvia the first time they fought, and in the second and 3rd fights Arlovski rocked him pretty good, but didn't capitalize. Arlovski is by far the better fighter than the two but just wasn't on his game. Sylvia won't hold his belt for long though, maybe one more title defense and then he will loose it.
