When I download a program,.What information is exchanged between my computer and the site I`m getting it from?

Can I mask my host server and IP ? What kind of revealing information is my computer transmitting?

You cannot easily mask your IP. However, other than IP information and various browser details as well as Operating System, no significant information is transmitted. Most of the data sent by your computer is your computer acknowledging receipt of the (much larger) data packet.

If you Have a firewall up should be none!!!!!!!
