Depending on the reason the first car stopped. You may be found a certain percent at fault, and may have to pay for damage to veh in front of you.

I am assuming this was a rear end type accident. It may be different in the U.S. but here in canada you would be responscible for the car you hit provided the person in front of you had already hit the person in front of them and so forth... Yes if they claim personal injury it will be more.. depending on your state/province laws it would most likely be best to go through insurance and pay your deductable if they claim that. where i live we have a "cap" on how much personal injury a person could claim because some people were getting out of hand and claiming over $100,000.00 in "personal injury" Best advice check with your insurance company. Hope it all works out.

I would imagine you that you wouldn't be held responsible for 1st and 2nd cars unless the impact of your car into the third car was significant enough to add considerable damage and/or injury to those cars. But you will probably be held responsible for damage to the rear of the third car. If you have insurance, they will handle the situation on their own, and I don't think the deductible increases if someone claims injuries but I'm not sure on that and it probably depends on your specific policy as well.

If you did not cause the accident, but got tangled up in it, you should not be held responsible...if you got a ticket..you may have a problem.
