a 150 grain Remington core-lokt bullet. the caliber depends on the type of gun it is (examples 7mm.08, 308, 30-6, 243, 223, 22, 22 -250, 270, 260,ect...)
7mm.08 i would shoot a 140 grain bullet

I don't know too much about the Remington 710, and I'm not going to down your new gun. The 30-06 is better than the .270 and it shoots a bigger bullet which is .308 inches in diameter and the .270's bullet is .277 inches in diameter. But it will bee good enough to hunt with, it's not like you're doing extreme long range shooting.

It depends on the caliber. With a 270 I'd use 130gr soft points. With a 30.06 I'd use 150 or 165gr soft points. I've also used 180gr soft points in my 30.06 to take several deer and a black bear that was 322 pounds.
