I dated a guy who was 10 years older than me, We dated for a year and a half. yes its disgusting.. Anyways, I thought that he would love me forever and all that good nonsense. He ended up getting what he wanted, changing the way he acted toward me and then we stayed together to try to make it work. Trust me its not worth it to waste your time on a guy who is ALOT older.

Think about it this way whats wrong with him, being 31, that he needs to date a 19 year old, why cant he get a woman his age?

Old Men like young girls for one thing... just think about it.

It really is up to what you want to do. If he is 31 then he has already experienced things that you haven't. Such as, perhaps marriage, kids or not. You need to talk to him about that. But like alot of people on here have said, you do need to be careful. Because though the age thing may or may not be a factor you just need to take care of you first. What I mean is your coming from a different place in life than he is. And that age difference could come into play at times. Like with music, or interests in general. That is not a bad thing but something to consider. Your both consenting adults and single, (hopefully you know he is single by now) then just do what people do, date and enjoy life. Take care.

YES IT IS . If you do more than kiss . In USA the rule is 4 or more years apart is illegal , if you're under 18 . Not a lot of people know that . But my friend was 12 her bf was 16 & they got in a lot of trouble .

Hey' your legal do what you want to do but know this' There are a lot of older guys that just want to do a young tight girl. I would be very care full about him. Don't let him make a fool of you. Don't misunderstand there is nothing wrong with going with a older man. Most older men will treat you better. But still' be care full.

When I was 18. I dated a 31 yr old. We had a good relationship for a while. He became jealous when I turned 21 and we split.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it even if you were my daughter.

My husband was 12 yrs older than I was we were married 32 years before he died and as much as I loved him we had our age issues one of the biggest was the "been there, done that" issue so I didn't get to try alot of thing but other than that we had a great relationship and were great friends as well as lovers
People get out of a relationship what they put into it for the most part
Good luck

At the risk of sounding cliche, age is just a number. The guy I'm with is 17 years older than me. If you really like him and he really likes you, and isn't using you, then go for it. But be careful and don't completely let your guard down unless you know he really likes you. And make sure he's not married before you get involved with him.

I think he sounds a bit to old. There are a lot of changes someone goes through in those year, a lot of maturing. Even though i am sure you are very mature its still a very wide gap. With my friends who have dated older man, they said that the older guys looked at them more like "little kids" or just would never listen to anything they had to say because they were to young. So i think its to big of a range, but its all up to you.
