that would be world famous for all time, but you knew someone else would get all the credit for it and you would remain totally obscure and forgotten, would you do it?

Would it make a difference if the person who gets the credit is your worst enemy? Or someone you're jealous of?

Hmmm interesting question. I believe I would create the work. It would be more important to me to show the world something that is a reflection of my emotions and thoughts than to take credit.

I don't think I would. I would probably just create the art work and keep it in obscurity with me until somebody discovered us both. It feels like a nightmare to see some one else take credit for my work of art that if is that good to become world famous would probably be a part of my life's work. Thats why I keep my writen works hidden. Only a few people have seen them and they say that i should publish them cause i could probably get rich with them. I am afraid i will get cheated though, so when the time is write i will reveal my work.

I am a ful time artist www.janedunn.co.uk . Farming has gone wrong for us and so i am the main bread winner at the moment . We had to do a central heating boiler move because of brown smoke always in the house and now we cannot afford to do the pipe work to start it up again so i am now sitting in room of 3 degrees c ( I live in the czech republic and it going to get colder) I ahve 6 children to feed so ++++ the art for arts sake . I heard a bbc radio program the other day on the Medicis ....the birth of Venus was done for a mistress as a racey bed headboard . It is YOU critics amateur or pro who seem to think artistss are happy to live on air . I have sold quite a lot of stuff to a critic at the Tate and he told me is was the way of all great artists to starve !!!! AND HOW ++++++ 'cute ' banksy is and i suppose he is not doing it for the money!!!
I have a gallery in NY selling my stuf but they tell me there has never been such a bad time .All you Yobs out there go after your graffiti !! . I live near Prague and have never seen the ballet but I paint it !!! WHAT AM I TO DO .!!!!!.... JUST SHUT UP YOU ALL YOU BEASTLY PEOPLE WHO ARE HAPPY TO SIT IN YOUR WARM ROOM AND EAT YUMMY FOOD AND THEN GO OUT AND HAVE FUN AND LOVE ART SPARE ONE ++++ THOUGHT FOR US ARTISTS WHO HAVE TRAINED AND SPENT OUR LIVE WORKING AS ARTISTS :::: I WISH I COULD HAVE A CAR AND GO AND WORK AS AN OFFICE WORKER AND KNOW WHERE MY NEXT PAY WAS COMING
ps almost great artists have worked for money and if not they were wealthy ...Velasquez for money and position !! Renoir ...all those portraits.? Toulouse lautrec Berteh Morisot both well off Before this date it was uniquely a profession so no rich gentleman painted full time .

i make art for the sake of making art and as a way of expressing... something...not really myself, but something deeper.
and i will remain totally obscure and forgotten anyway, yet some of my art will likely survive. and some self promoting @$$ sucking weasle will probably profit from my work...that is just the way of the world, dear child.

artists, true artists, create solely for the sake of creating art, so yeah i would still make the piece.

I would create it and sign my name at the bottom of it.
