No, if you don't got nappy hair it doesn't look that great cause they don't want to stay in. And I'm sorry but it's a black person thing.

I had a friend who put cornrows in her hair, I didn't like them at all but some white people can pull them off! I went on a trip to mex. one year and came back in cornrows and I got countless laughs from people and rude comments such as "She is trying to be ghetto" or "WTF Why is she trying to act black?" and what not. My faimly is the same exact way, we had a friend staying over (my age) and she went home for a weekend and came back with cornrows, and my dad couldn't stop laughing at her. What I say is that if you like it, do it. Who care's what other people think? If you like the style, go for it. Good luck!

Personally I think that cornrows look silly on anyone no matter what color their skin is. It just looks especially silly on white people because they look like they're trying to be "gangster" like the ppl in the rap videos. Besides cornrows don't look very professional or mature. Good Luck.

Choose the best decision, if your family would get upset that you did it, and you'd have to struggle with with it, then don't. I would, everyone has their own style and I think everyone should follow it, instead of following what's in fashion and what everyone else is wearing or has. I love wearing my own style. If you like that kind of stuff, it's perfect for you! So you should do it!

YES - do it !!! Tell your family members that it's just a form of body art. Better than a tattoo. Or say it promotes racial tolerance and the inclusiveness that ought to be the fabric of American society.
Didn't Bo Derek have them once upon a time?
If it turns out you don't like them, just undo them in a month. I'll bet that once your family gets over their initial reaction, they'll llike it just fine. And miss it when you change your hairdo one day.

Do it. Your family cannot control every aspect of your life. Don't let their biggoted attitudes dictate how you wear your hair. If you are old enough to work and make your own money, you can make such decisions for yourself.

unless you have very curly hair it wont stay thy way very long. When it comes out thought it is still cute with real wavy hair. Try it once an see how you like it. I have heard it take alot time and cost alot, that would be the deal breaker for me

well its really a black hair style its kinda symbolic to us because we have been gettin cornrolls all my life and im just starting to get my hair out of braids. i dont wear it in a perm i get it pressed which is another black hairstyle most black people take that into offence becaue of the way we have been treated but i mean hey if u want to go for it cause i really dont care......and i really shouldnt because im black and its not wrong for me to wear em....but you should be free in your own skin you have to understand the risks and the things that involve that.

Ok, my theory in child raising was pick your battles. If you wearing corn rows is the worse thing that you do as a kid, your parents should be happy.
If you want corn rows go for it.
Do you care if people laugh, are you doing it for yourself or for them? If you are sensitive and it bothers you ---don't do it.
