car hit us it had minor damages their insurance gave us a check in the meantime right b4 i recieved the check i was in an accident and totalled my car what do i do with this other check

Absolutely,someone hit you ,you are entitled to that check.Take the money! Put it towards another car.

If the check was made out to you its yours.It shouldnt matter what you do with it. The insurance company paid you, and if you use it to fix your veh they could care less. They have no ties with you anymore that claim was settled. You may want to use the check to put towards a new car..

Now listen to what I tell you:

If it is two different insurance companies, and neither is YOUR insurance, you can keep both.

No need to explain to anybody that the damn car was already damaged and you had been compensated.

Bingo! The "little guy" (sorry, "little gal") wins one finally! Keep it, it's yours.

The way that they "system" is supposed to work (against you) is that they would deduct for the previous damage on the total loss. If they didn't catch that, you win! Either way, it's yours.

i own a repair shop,and one of my customers had this problem also,, he told the insurance company about it,,and they canceled the first check,,they told him if he had cashed it,,he would have had to payed it back,,so id call them,and tell them you still have the first one,,then they,ll advise you of what to do,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

as long as you didn't have any repairs done that you owe money on.....or that you don't owe a lender for the car....it is yours.
