Hi, I'm a golf pro. You hit the cheap driver better because it might fit you better. By fitting better I mean, the shaft flexibility may be better suited to your golf swing. The majority of golfers think they're big strong lumberjacks who think they need a stiff shaft. In most cases this is false because most golfers don't break 80 and don't have a fast swing even though they "think" they do. Most golfers need a regular flex shaft. Technique is most important, not strength. Technique teaches you how to "load" the shaft properly so that it releases at impact properly. That's why you hear pro's such as Fred Funk say, "Smoother equals farther." If you try too hard, you're probably swinging too hard, which kills your technique. While getting fit for the right club with a launch monitor won't turn you into a great golfer, it may answer some important questions for you.

lots of things go into a good club that fits you. many different shafts, grips, club head sizes, and degrees of loft on clubs, the walmart club maybe just better for you. are they the same shafts, you have very stiff, stiff, regular....are they the same degree of loft, are they the same grip size....all are important when trying to buy a club that fits you. best way to by a driver is not off the shelf at a store, go to a good driving range and ask to try out the demo drivers, if you are a golfer that shoots 90 or over you probably need a regular shaft and maybe 10 degree loft, if you swing very fast and you are big and strong, probably need a stiff shaft driver. good luck

The cheap driver probably is what you should be using the grip size should be right and the shaft and length

A way to test the grip is to hold the club like you are about to make a shot and then remove your right hand from the club (if your right handed) and your left hands fingers should be just barley touching the heel of your hand what is mean is completely wrapping around the club and back to your hand. If there not touching your hand your grip is to big and if they are pressing to hard into your hand then the grip is too small.

Probably has to do with the stiffness of the shaft.
