I am considering flights to Asia from the US, and have the option of stopping over in Amsterdam or Milan. My only concern of stopping at Milan is if English is easily understood at the airport -- Especially, if I need to change terminals etc.

Thanks.

They speak primarily Italian, however, you can most likely find English speaking employees, especially in the International Terminal. If you are stuck, go to a counter of one of the American carriers.

Just about everyone in Amsterdam speaks English fluently. Sometimes, as well as Americans. It is a required language in their education system. Schipol is a fabulous airport for a stopover, probably the best in Europe.
