I'm at the absolute last stage ie I have submitted all my paperwork, collected all the required documents and have requested the US embassy in London for an interview date. The customer service at the embassy tell me that it will take 6-8 weeks before they even respond to me. And then it is 2 weeks or so after that for a date. Is this true or are those just the standard answers they give out? Is there anyone out there who has gone through this who can give me an actual time frame? I'm hoping to be with my fiance before christmas..Please help!

I'm aware of the total length of the process, but how long did the last stage take? i mean from the time you requested an interview till the interview date/visa issual?

As of October 2006, waiting time is still varying between 4 and 12 weeks, but processing seems to be speeding up again after a dramatic slowdown in the fall of 2005. 8 weeks is now about standard, but as always, your mileage may vary, plan for a 10-12 week wait in between the Consulate's receipt of packet 3 and the actual interview. E-mail is definitely the best way to contact London if necessary.

We put our paperwork in early june 04 by january 05 he was able to come over. They gave us 6 months for him to come over because we were getting married in sept. USCIS website gives you a better time frame on which dates they are working on now. It did go much faster than we thought. Good luck
