It's called a postal code. The format is letter-number-letter space number-letter-number.

Each major city begins with a letter such as V for Victoria and Vancouver. Then we have T which of course is for two (Edmonton and Calgary) And it makes even less sense when we get to Toronto which starts with M.

Besides Canadian never get mail anyway since they all live in Igloos.

It is actually called a postal code, as far as I know zip codes are only in the US. 2 that I can think of off the top of my head:

S7L 1K1
S7L 2N7
Saskatoon, SK
