My kids really love simple foods. They aren't much on casseroles, etc. Some favs are fried chicken with green beans and mac and cheese, pork chops (baked or fried) with salad and rolls, and there aren't many desserts they like better than cut up apples with mandarin oranges.

This is a great question! I have 2 boys, 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. They are tough to feed......but, I know that a good meal is essential. If I want it to be super easy, I pick up one of those cooked whole chickens at the grocery store, I steam fresh carrots and broccoli. Then some times I bake some fries or potatoes to go with it....I like to have some sort of dessert for them to look forward to. Good luck!

My kids love chicken casserole (in fact my 2 yr old son is asking for it now). Cook 1 lb chicken (I ususally boil). Cut up chicken and combine with 2 cans cream of chicken soup. Make a half of a bag of pepperidge farm stuffing in the blue bag (not stove top!!) and put on top. Bake about 30 min at 350 or until bubbly.

Another kid friendly favorite around here is Mexican lasagna -- layer tortillas between layers of ground beef (browned) with spicy chili beans, taco seasoning packet and 1 8 oz tomato sauce. Top with cheddar. So it goes tortilla, meat mix, cheese, tortilla, meat mix and cheese. YUM!

Good luck!

If, they like a little spice; Chicken Rotel, some call it Mexican Chicken. It just Doritos, chicken and Cheese dip made from Rotel or any Diced Tomatoes and green chilies. Boil chicken I use Breasts, cut into small pieces. Melt cheese with Rotel as chicken boil. Layer Chips-Chicken-Chips-chicken until all used top with chips, in a casserole dish. Pour Cheese dip over all, bake 350 until corners of chip start to brown/burn. It a meal alone, or, if they like veggies, green beans, corn, what ever they like.

Octopus and Seaweed!

I know, it sounds gross but my kids love it!

Take smoked sausages or hot dogs and slice the bottom half of them lengthwise to create "tenacles". Put them in hot water and boil until the ends start to curl.

Make Ramen Noodles according to the package directions and then drain. Add a little green food coloring to give it the look of "seaweed".

Let them make faces on the dogs with mustard, ketchup or their favorite condiment. It's great served with applesauce for "quicksand".

Take a fresh chicken and batter it in egg and flour. Cook the peices ( after you cut them up) and fry it in olive oil. Make Mac-n-cheese and green beans. They will love it. It is fresh and have BBQ sauce on the table waiting with a glass of milk.
Spaghetti is always a big hit too!
Make mini-pizza's using english muffins with their favorite toppings.

Spaghetti is always a plus. Easy to make and it goes a long way. Like one of the answers, my kids love bolognese sauce too. I use ground beef or chicken, and italian turkey sausage (you can use real Italian sausage, but italian turkey sausage is a healthy alternative for my kiddies).

My kids were always into simple foods, more finger foods. A good dinner that was quick and always disappeared was making grilled cheese, cutting off the crust, and cutting it into strips so that they could dunk it into their tomato soup.

fun foods that are still healthy but they will have fun eating or putting together themselves. such as a cold plate with things like crackers different kinds of meat, cheeses, and sauces. You can do pigs in the blanket or mac n cheese with ham or turkey, and you can hide your veggies inside of it. You can put cheese on it to cover up things you don't want them to see. or turn it into to game see who can eat all there healthy food first. Or you can hide special treats inside of the food and tell them they have to eat it to find them.
