When you first meet someone, do not tell them that you are alone..That will come later in the relationship, If I were dating you and I fell in love with you, I would not care if you were alone previously because all that would matter is here and now, and you would not be alone any longer...

I think you are vulnerable. There are men who will take advantage of this, just as there are men who take advantage when someone is in the midst of sorrow. You need counseling.
It really does help to gain back the feelings that you are worth something and that you won't set yourself up. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a good guy and a bad.

I am not a man, but honestly on my billionth go around at finding someone I kicked the idea around at finding someone that didnt have a family.

My ex whom I was with for 9 years was constant battle of who's family do we see for the holidays and who's family do we do what events for. It created a lot of problems and I am VERY attached to doing things with my family and had a hard time giving them up.

To me you would be ideal for dating if I had a big commitment to my family. There wouldnt be the big battle and the holidays/family events and so on could be so much more enjoyable.

I am not sure if thats considered taking advantage of you.. but if so yeah maybe they could. Otherwise I dont see where that would make a difference. If I were you I would find someone that has a great love for their family and enjoy having one again. You can market with the no hassle for the holidays.... I'm telling you.. thats a HUGE PLUS..

Dont sell yourself short.. :)

seriously i wouldnt think anything of it. ur just another person in the world like the rest of us. i only have a couple family members but i like to think that my friends are more my family then anyone else. u can choose who ur family is. blood dosnt matter in ur case so even if u have to family u still have friends which are often better. some guys will try n take advantage but every gurl gets taken advantage of its nothing speacial or out of the ordinary.

I don't think they would take advantage of you especially if it is a good man. But surely you have someone close , if not a relative , a good friend ? neighbor , ETC ? Seriously be careful who you go out with and let someone know who and where you're going , ok?

As long as you have friends you are NEVER alone.

You can't help your situation, and I can't imagine that anyone would take advantage of you solely because of it. People take advantage of others because they CAN - just don't allow it to happen.

If I were dating you I would care for you because of who you were, not because you do or don't have family.

Why would a man take advantage of you for that? I would think you are a very strong and self sufficient person.

I don't think I would spread that around so freely. There are creeps out there you know. I would make up a family, like co-workers that you call brother or sister, etc. Even though you don't have biological family, your friends can become your family.
