I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that
http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...
This is in capsule form and easy to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.
I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.
The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.
My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.
The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth

Do NOT brush wet hair...it can cause damage in the long run. Use your fingers as much as possible and then use a wide-toothed comb.
Daily washing with a good shampoo that suits your hair, keeps hair well groomed, while a well balanced cut, good conditioning and regular trimming helps it look smart as well..
Find a shampoo that suits your hair...just because it works for someone else does not mean it will work for you! Rinse hair well when washing, but do not use hot water while washing your hair.
Deep condition at least once a month, twice or more for dry, damaged hair.
Don't use sharp-edged hair clips and do not tie your hair tightly. Never use a plain rubber band either. This causes breakage from pressure on the hair. Thicker hair bands without metal clasps are best.
Brushes and combs DO matter...find a good one...spend a little more...it could really help your hair in the long run.
Do not blow dry your hair if you can help it! Air-dry your hair as much as possible.
If you have dandruff, use an anti-dandruff shampoo to get rid of it.
Trim those split ends. Get a trim when little touch ups just will not do the job.
To have healthy hair is the most important thing, irrespective of whether your hair is straight or curly. To keep it healthy and beautiful one must wash their hair regularly with a shampoo that suits your hair and provides you the benefits that you seek.

Get a trim every 2 months ( tell stylist to "tip the ends" ) pantiene is the worst shampoo, it strips color, ruins perms and is harm-full to virgin hair. I use Matrix Biolage at my salon and at home I am using Garner Frutrise. Even a multi-vitamin will help, although Wal-Mart has hair and nail growth vitamin. Hair grows 1/2 inch month average... Although hair and nails are the windows to a persons health. If your hair and nails are healthy and growing quickly you health is generally good. Do you have a health condition or are you on medication, both will play apart in the growth.

Did you get a bad haircut? that happened to me. My hairs curly too, so straightening it makes it look like 2 inches longer. try a different hairdo, maybe you'll like it. so, if you dont want it to be curly, id try straightening it that way, it'll be longer. if you cant put it up, use hair clips and accessories to keep it from getting too wild or something. that is, only if you got a bad hair cut.

The rate of hair growth is largely determined by genetics. If it's always grown slowly, it will always grow slowly.
