I think a lot of our police or anyone high in government think that they are now on top of the world weather they are young or old. I agree with you that there are a lot of honorable people in are forces but granted there are lots of crooked ones too. There is really no way to pick out the bad ones from the good ones. In many cases our police departments are just looking for an extra hand becuase crime is so outrageous. If a person can pass the tests to become a police officer who is anyone else to say they can't be one without proof of them being wrong for the job??

I remember years ago as a new police recruit we would have to read the bio's of fallen officers for that day. Keep in mind each day an Officer dies. It may not make the news or even be spoken about at the local coffee shop but it happens. Some fall heroically. Others ambushed without warning. Either way they deserve our gratitude. What is the best way to honor a fallen Officer? I guess its to keep their memory alive. Let it foster hope for the next generation and pray they become better than we are. That they learn from our mistakes and look to the future. That’s who I work for... the children of tomorrow.

Why do you assume that the "someone" who took advantage of the law wasn't you? Just pay the fine and don't try to take advantage of the law next time.

Some of these "badge heavy" cops are insecure and want to flex their newly acquired "muscles". They want to establish a reputation, but they are going about it in the wrong way.

That isn't just young cops, unfortunately as in all occupations there are some good and some bad. It really isn't a matter of age.
