You can donate your hair to locks of love. You have to have at least 10 inches though. Your local hair salon can cut it and send it in. The locks of love website will tell you how it should be handled. Good Luck.

Call around and ask salon's. I do know that price Cutters & Hair Cuttery does it. They may reduce your hair, save it in a bag or envelope, after which mail it off to be made into a wig for cancer patients. But you have got to have at least 6" reduce to ensure that it to be donated.

Ask the stylist that is cutting his hair if they participate in Locks of love. This is the easiest way because they will send it in for you. They make wigs for children.

Rules:
We accept 10" minimum hair length (tip to tip). We cannot accept wigs, falls, or synthetic hair.
Please bundle hair in ponytail or braid.
Hair needs to be clean, dry, placed in a plastic bag, then padded envelope.
We need hair from men and women, young and old, all colors and races.
Hair may be colored or permed, but not bleached or chemically damaged (if unsure, ask your stylist).
Hair swept off the floor is not usable.
Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.
Hair that is short, gray, or unsuitable for children will be separated from the ponytails and sold at fair market value to offset the cost of manufacturing.
You may pull curly hair straight to measure the minimum 10".
The majority of all hair donated comes from children who wish to help other children.
Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails for donation.
Please note: Anyone can cut your hair as long as the above guidelines are followed.

call around and ask salon's. i comprehend that value Cutters & Hair Cuttery does it. they are going to cut back your hair, shop it in a bag or envelope, and then mail it off to be made right into a wig for many cancers sufferers. yet you would be able to desire to have a minimum of 6" cut back to confirm that it to be donated.

Just so you know, Locks of Love usually doesn't give hair to cancer patients, because their hair loss is usually temporary. Locks of Love usually only gives hair to people who have more permanent hair loss. Nevertheless it's a good organization and I'm planning on giving my hair to them.

Locks of Love. My 6 year daughter had ten inches cut off for her first hair cut and wanted to send it to another child that was sick. I cried, but she told me that it would grow back and that the little kid that got it would probably cry too.I'm so proud of her. Their web site will give you all of the instructions to sending it in.
