you wear chains of guilt
like shackles on your feet
like a halo in reverse
i can feel the discomfort in your seat
and in your head its worse
theres a pain
of famine in your heart
an aching to be free
cant you see
that all lifes luxuries
are here for you and me
when our walls they fall apart
when the walls come tumbling in
though we may deserve it
it will be worth it
bring your chains
your lips of tragedy
and fall into my arms
when our walls they fall apart
when the walls come tumbling in
though we may deserve it
it will be worth it
how does that make you feel?...are you shackled to your guilt?...is it worth your bondage???...or would you rather be free of it?....;0)
i didnt write that...i quote Depeche Mode...;0)

When you think you've tried every road
Every avenue
Take one more look at what you've found old
And in it you'll find something new
I'm shying from the light
I've always loved the night
And now you offer me
Eternal dark-ness
I have to believe that sin
Can make a better man
But it's the mood that I am in
That's left us back where we began
I also quote Depeche Mode, and I'm just in the right mood for it today! :-)

I'd rather be free, but I'm guilty of being shackled to guilt I must admit. By the way...I have a poem I wrote called "She." It kinda fits in with what you're talking about, too. It's about someone free rather than being shackled. It's like the other side of me...the way I wish to be.

Wow, that was a depressing lyrical if I ever heard one, and hell no: I am free. I carry no guilt and no regrets because that's exactly what you would be if you did. In bondage, shackled and forever somebody's b**ch.

Never wear chains of guilt - they inevitably tarnish and leave black marks on your skin. If you can't afford real gold you are better to wear no adornment at all.

My guilt is always with me. Sometimes I can carry it well but late at night sometimes the chains bite hard.

That's a cool poem. You should make up a bunch of poems like that and try and find a publisher who will publish it for you!
