ok, my tonsil(mainly just the left one) is really sore. its swollen too. when i looked at it in the mirror, it has whiteness on it. does anyone know a good remedy to take away this soreness??? i'll greatly appreciate it.

there's only one problem. i cant have anything with dairy. unfortunately im lactose intolerant.

Try drinking really cold water and lots of ibuprofen. Also, see your doctor. They may need to come out. Hope this helps!

u have early tonsilitis. Go to the doctor you need antibiotics.
I recommend having them removed, particularly if you are under 21. The older you are when you have them removed the worse the recovery, trust me I had mine out at 24 and nearly kicked the bucket.
Also make sure you take your entire prescription of antibiotics, else you will create a culture of resistant bugs in you and that will mean you get tonsilitis over and over and over again.

Please have it checked by the physician. It may be just an infection, however, it could be more serious.
I work at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Orlando as a dietitian consultant. I see those who have developed cancer on the tonsils. If your sore goes away, but you still have a coloration or the tonsil is not real soft, make sure it is still OK.

If you have white on your tonsils.....you might have strep throat so you might need to go to the doctor. Otherwise they have these new things at Walmart that are like Chloraseptic and they work really good.

Make a gargle with apple cider vinegar, honey and warm water. Tastes disgusting but it's very soothing and has healing properties.
