Just got out of jail two days ago. Place I'll have nightmares about for the rest my life. Being in lock down for 22 hrs aday is not fun. Lights never go off. you get two wool blankets that are equivalent to pocket lint. It's freezing. I was there eight days and lost six lbs. it is a living hell. The corrections officers treat you like ****. you get to be surronding by every type of criminal there is. The jail has a stench about it and so will you. It's a pure nightmare.

One of the worst parts is going before your first appearance and finding out why your in jail, and what your charges are. So many people are under the influence of drugs or alchol at the time of arrest that they can't recall where they are and why they are in jail. Jail smells, the food sucks and half of the guys they make it there LIFE!

Yes, unfortunately, I have been to jail. I highly do not recommend it. I was arrested on an OUI charge and spent 5 of the most dreadful days in jail. To make matters worse, I come from a family of well known law enforcers, so they used this opportunity to make an example of me. My advice, stay away from jail!

Now i wouldnt quite call jail " hell on earth"

my take on jail is, if youre in for a week or so. Its ok. you know when youre getting out. Everythings good. be a man wait it out.

sitting in jail not knowing when youre getting out, is absolute hell!

Yep. Got locked up for public intoxication about 28 years ago. I still look at that as one of the worst moments of my life.

Does the drunk tank count?

I got arrested once because I forgot to pay a traffic ticket. I was in the holding cell, and they wouldn't let me wear shoes. It was degrading. I had to piss on a stainless steel toilet with the sink attatched to the back. I paid that ticket and said adios in a matter of an hour.
