I want to isolate the face from the picture's background on Photoshop. Some of the backgounds are fairly busy, so I'm having trouble getting rid of them.

Use the magnetic lasso tool.

In my experience the best way to separate a persons face in Photoshop is to blur the background and darken it a little as well. First select the face with the lasso tool. Then select invert and gausian blur the background, (Under Filters). Now choose a very large brush and a small number flow like 12 and slowly paint black, (Since your using 12 flow it will just slightly darken). Don't go over board with either thing. The best Photoshop jobs are the one's that don't look like they're Photoshop jobs... I hope that this helps!
