I watched this thing on the History channel that said Christ was a violent adolescent, had a wife -- named Mary Magdalin -- and daughter, and wasn't really crusified. They said that he died of old age a few years after his mom. Can someone tell me if they think that it's true?

It's a set of sayings, poems, mythological tales and assorted stories that were cobbled together by editors a long time ago. Later people tried to pass it off as the word of God.

Ah the bible great story, maybe some of it might be true, but there is so much thats in there that has been proved wrong. It has many fantastic tales in there. Yes I believe jesus existed, his mother named him, jewish tradition at the time, I believe he was a victim of everyone expecting some kind of messiah, his family was of the line of david. The bible does try just a little to hard to connect him to the line. However I dont believe the bible to be the word of god, jesus to be his son, or be god, the bible is stories. Jesus was just a man that lived a long time ago that made a big impression. Well those that believe thats ok, as for me, well I dont.

The History channal also probably says that we came from Monkeys...I believe that the History channal is just one opinion.
I think the Bible is true because my life has been changed by it. I see it lining up with my life. If Christ didn't die and raise from the dead I wouldn't have the Holy Spirit. I am very sure that I have the Holy Spirit in me, I just know God is with me. You can't really explain it, but yea i donno God has just changed my life its insane, i mean i know people who have the gift of healing as it's described in the bible, i know someone who has the gift of prophecy which is also mentioned in the bible. I donno it's crazy, demons mentioned in the bible are real, it's not a joke people are still possessed by demons just you haven't heard about it much because Satan is trying to keep things on the DL otherwise there would probably be plenty of people who would get kinda freaked out and run to God. There's live recording of people being possesed its not a joke, these recordings are viewed when making horror films about demons so they know what "the real thing" looks like. Satan wants us to either follow him, or believe in nothing; honestly i don't think he cares which one.
There's always going to be people who say the Bible is wrong, it's up to you to believe it or not, i've found it to be true.

Sadly, The DaVinci Code has made idiots out of us all. There is no evidence to that extent, in fact, there is plenty of evidence pointing to his death. This does not mean that the Bible is inherently correct, either. In response to Mr. Right (see above) the gospels were not in fact recorded by Jesus' close friends, but were rather made after their deaths from compilations of texts and word of mouth through a then struggling christian cult. The first step to understanding Christianity is reading the Bible. Unfortunately, no one seems to bother beyond that point.

the discovery channel had proved much that happen in the bible DID occur.
why would the koran and the bible over 2000 years and in many lanquages
remain almost identical word for word.
the Da Vinci books author had admitted creating false stories of jesus
which would permit him to sell alot of books primary directed to non believers.
Im sure he received alot of money which was his goal and it worked as noted from replies you received.
Sure this is a hot story that tv would like to take advantage of.
most jesus believers would admit that their life had improved since their
conversion----- I don,t think this is a matter of luck.

as a Christian,of course i say He is what the bible say He is.the bible is the only proper source of information bout Him.there is no other source that can be claimed properly as relevant as the bible that can point that what the bible had written bout Christ is not the truth.i am a God believing guy.if not of God,we would not be here in this world.those negative comments u had seen n read, are of those people who does not believe in Him.faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen(Hebrews 11:1)

I would read the Bible if I wanted to know about Jesus or anyhting that is in the Bible. There are people that are only interested in making money when they write books or make movies.
The books of the Bible that tell of Jesus (New Testament) are written by men who knew him personally. So I would believe their accounts before believeing what anyone else writes.

Christ is what the Bible says it is. He is the example for all of us to follow. i believe you're having serious doubts about religion... if you learned your history well, the fact that the Bible has survived until now tells you that Satan as usual is always trying to destroy the Bible and anything and anyone related to it.
you should read the Bible for yourself and meditate on the words. pray and ask God to speak to you too :)

I would believe it. Most aspect of the bible seem to be made up. Whoever chooses to believe it is fine, but I just hate when people try to force me to believe such unbelievable things. I'm sure Jesus existed, but during that time it would have been unimaginable for him to not be married. What you watched on the History Channel is probably more believable than the bible. But.. nobody can ever be certain, and that's where faith comes in.

I would listen to the History Book and not the theory of some guy who hates religion for a living. That's just me though.
