An lcd will work fine watching Over the AIr Signals. It wont be High definition though - (720p, 1080i)
but for about 100 you can pick up a good HD receiver and get all your locals in true HD then you will be the man.!

unless you have an HD receiver, why the hell would you waste your money on an LCD tv in the first place?? a flat screen CRT and LCD would have the same amount of "good looks" if running from regular air-waves or cable w/o high def.

Get an HDTV with a built in digital (ATSC) tuner. All new model sets are supposed to have them. If you have good reception, you may be able to get by with an indoor antenna. For reception information and antenna recommendations, see http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx
