Because there's more than one god. You should be ashamed of yourself for not studying up on religion to gain knowledge instead of going out and coming to assumptions.

Hi, I believe you are semi serious about this:) there are as many gods as there are people. So feel free to create your own, it is more probable that humans created their god and not provable that god created humanity. So you are free to believe in who/what -ever you want. No one can say for sure you'll ever know the truth, especially concerning the part after death. We are bound to this life and have no way to look beyond, so just don't try, there ain't no truth to find, you be a fool trying. Thinkers are crazy people, who are lost in thought. Like me:) The bases are all the same anyways,so no worries, I assure you any god will do just fine. None out there believes that different groups of poeple were created and are managed by different gods, they just say that you believe in the wrong one, but they are liberal so they say that would be alright, and you may eventually end on the right path. This obviously means that all gods are the same. We just choose the one we like best or the one someone we obey tells us to believe in. All the best to you.

Better yet, believe in NONE & be free! After all, if Congo Mumbo Jumbo is in charge, it won't make no difference, he'll have you for dinner anyway.

HAH! Because Christian mythology and most other mythologies are mutually exclusive. It's LOGICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to have two things that are both "the strongest force in the universe" (without changing the definitions of the terms). People believe in christianity because to believe in any other gods inherently means that they don't believe in christianity anymore... though they can believe in other gods as "angels" and be just fine. But if a god exists, and you've been calling it an angel or a demon, that doesn't mean it won't be pissed.
This is why I'm agnostic: I don't believe in anything, but I give everything the benefit of the doubt.

There is Just one living God the rest are just graven images, idols and we are told in Gods word not to bow down to other Gods
in Deuteronomy 5:8-9 God says
8.You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
9. You shall not bow down to them or serve them;
and it grieves God when his people worship other Gods
May Jesus Bless you this Christmas and for many years to Come Merry Christmas

Because the Bible teaches that there is only one God. He is the creator of the universe and everything in it--including man. It states he is a jealous God---You know the ten commandments--Thou shalt have no other God. Don't worry about when you get to Heaven, because if you worship other Gods, you won't get to Heaven.

It would be highly incompatible to believe in all of them as they each say there is only one God. Now the Greeks and Romans had many Gods interesting too. Maybe they had the right idea. Why not gust believe in no Gods? xx

Some of those gods contradict each other. That and a lot of theists aren't polytheists - they want it to be that the WHOLE universe was created by only ONE god as if that made it more "believable" and "special".
Isn't this a Pascal's wager in that it's polytheism vs. monotheism?

Because you can't go through life believing in everything. If you do that, you might as well believe in nothing. How can you be SURE that the god you believe in is the right one? Faith. And a personal conviction.
