It is connected to proper input (not audio). Plus its a brand new tv, i thought it was the old tv, but i guess its the ps2 help

Red Wire is not connected properly, or one of the connectors is bad.

Happened to me watching "The Incredibles" the red dissapeared, thought my TV went out but it turned out to be a loose connection.

Make sure the wires are plugged fully into the back of the set. Component wires are heavy, and the PS2 ones tend to fall out over time.

If that doesnt' work, plug the PS2 into another TV with component video inputs. If it works fine on another set, the problem is with the input in the TV. Which... would kinda suck.
