If you do add liquid, it will change the "hardness" of the chocolate once it hardens. You may use a microwave, but remember that chocolate maintains it's shape when heated and is easily scorched if overheated. Heat in several short spurts and stir often. I would recommend using a double boiler. The only caution is to not get the chocolate too hot before pouring into molds, as the chocolate will "bloom" (streaky white). Nothing wrong with it, just the cocoa butter has risen to the top and hardened. When molds are filled, refrigerate briefly and do not force candy out of the mold, allow it too pull itself from the sides.

I believe the ultimate chocolate machine uses a light bulb (i.e. easybake oven)

I agree. A double boiler is the way to go. Microwave works but only for a few seconds at a time.

melt in a double boiler. Don't have a double boiler use a glass or metal bowl over a pot of hot water. You can always melt in the microwave. Be careful not to burn it. Once it's burned, you can't do anything to fix it.

The best way is over a double-boiler. That way you can monitor it.
