I'm not an activists, but I always see PETA activists and other animal rights activsts in the news with picket signs and protesting for whales, deer, and bears, Oh my. etc... Mostly all cute, or beautiful animals. If they supposedly care so much about all animals, why don't they protest the needless slayings of opssums on the roads of America. Or protesting the stores that sell the rat killing poisons and/or devices. Either go all out or don't do it at all. Oh, and also, owning anything leather, well, that just like wearing or sitting on a big slab of beef jerky isn't it?

I think they do complain about leather, actually. Oppossums aren't endangered, hunted, or kept in captivity for the farming of their fur, and neither are rats. People don't purposely kill oppossums or rats for exploitation purposes. PETA and other activists typically rally against people who use animals for their own gain.

Maybe it would help if you actually knew a little more of what you're talking about. Animal rights groups do protest the needless, deliberate killing of all animals. They in fact do not buy or wear leather. They advocate boycotting companies who perform animal testing. Many are vegetarian. If you are trying to be sarcastic or facetious by saying they are insincere because you don't see them protesting road kill, it is more of a statement of your beliefs, than actual knowledge. These groups protest animal traps, that let animals die in agony (including possums), dissections in medical labs that include rats and mice.
Just to show us how sincere you are, how would go about trying to prevent roadkill? Put efforts into issues that can have a practical solution. Are you ready to stop driving your car?

Have you considered championing the cause of the Opossums as your life's work? It would have far reaching effects beyond just them. To make roads safer for many creatures, including humans. Believe in their cause. Be their voice. Stand for those slow moving creatures that wander about in the night. Let the opossums be your mission!

As you move on in life you will find that activists, who are for the most part, part of a larger group called ''liberals'' will consistently contradict themselves without ever explaining (or even thinking they have to explain) themselves!
