I've been raised in an eco-friendly family in a not so eco-friendly community and it bothers me. I'm sick of seeing 16 year old girls driving their new range-rovers and boys driving audi a4's and then, they join "save the earth" or "students against global warming" which are clubs in my school. Don't they realize how hypocritical they are? maybe i'm stereotyping and i apologize if i am. I know some of you may have a hybrid and an SUV, or a hybrid SUV but i'm just very aggravated. As for me? everyone on my streeet has an average of two children and drives a seven passenger luxury barge except for my family which is one with three boys. we have a 35 mpg saab station wagon with a four cylinder turbo-charged engine. so please tell me, what goes through the minds of these people? hydrogen powered cars wont happen over night. we need a benchmark, and, a example for our children (even though i have none).
Again, i'm sorry if i have offended any of you - i just am dying to get my opinion out.

today i learned that there is a such thing that can remove carbon dioxide from the air, if they use it on the atmosphere we wont have so much carbon dioxide absorbing so much sunlight. we need intelligent people in charge of removing carbon dioxide from the air to affect temperature. thats all.
but i think we should be energy conservative as well. you make sense and you are polite. when i get to level 2 i will give you thumbs up. :)

Some of the answers made here you cannot truly believe. Try listen to lectures or read book from this Al Gore. If you think he is out of proportion then why has no scientist contradicted his claims. That is because they cannot come up with facts that contradict him. And if you do decide to watch 'An inconvenient truth' you would know that this current global warming is significant different from all other past global warmings. There is such a major difference that noone who know the facts can say it is just natural.
Eventhough those people are hypos, you should aim your target more on politicians and those who stubbornly deny it instead.

Not to offend you, but you are simply parroting what you have heard in school and from the liberal media. There are a number of factors that cause the planet to warm up, as well as cool down. First and foremost, Earth sits in the sun all day, but doesn't follow a perfectly circular orbit around the sun, nor does it stay in the same position all the time. It's going to warm up and cool down. Second, the climate has changed radically over thousands of years. The planet has gone through ice ages, droughts, heat waves, and all manner of climates in between. One of the factors that regulates the climate is that Earth's imaginary axis wobbles, which places the northern and southern hemispheres in different exposure to the sun in a cyclical pattern that varies over hundreds, if not thousands of years. There are certainly things that man does that can cause the climate to change, such as clear-cutting forests, burning down rainforests, releasing harmful chemicals into the air, and other things, and it would be best if man learned to conserve resources and be good stewards of the planet we inhabit, but it must be clearly understood that we don't have as much control over the climate as we like to think we do. To think otherwise is very self-centered. Remember that a large portion of North America was covered with ice, and was a very different place than it is now. Where did all that ice go? It melted, because the planet warmed up. This happened long before man inhabited as much of north America as we do now, and long before we had cars, factories, and other pollution sources that contribute so-called "greenhouse gases" to the atmosphere. The laws of physics, which govern all kinds of activities on Earth, tell us that there is no such thing as perpetual motion or endless supplies of energy. The planet is gradually winding down. It is imperceptible to the average person, because there is such small change in one person's lifetime, but taken over thousands of years, it becomes more apparent. Imagine if mankind spent as much time and energy trying to stop wars and killings and global suffering caused by man's inhumanity toward his fellow man rather than trying in vain to save a dying planet.

The world is FULL of hypocrites, especially where religion is concerned.
Forget about it and be the best student you can be. THAT'S what will benefit you most.
Global warming is a natural periodic change that is not permanent.

Should not you blame the government and the cars manufacturers for this problem?
Why blame the people for buying something which is pushed on them by clever advertising?
Why do people buy cars which can go 140Mph when the speed limit is 60Mph?

Perhaps you should talk directly to the people you are referring to, instead of this group.
